Tech of the Month: Parminder King

Our January 2021 Tech of the Month is Parminder King, otherwise known as PosebyParmi. Parmi entered the SPMU industry in 2020 and has created some unbelievable results in such a short space of time. Read our interview with Parmi to learn about her SPMU journey so far and her plans for the future.

1) When did you first enter the beauty industry?

I entered the beauty industry in 2017 as an eyelash artist. Initially, I decided to perform lash treatments as a way of making some extra money in my spare time. However, I totally fell in love with the beauty industry and my part time services soon turned into a fully developed business!

After a few years of offering lash treatments, I decided to train in SPMU brows. I absolutely love creating beautiful brows and get so much joy out of making my clients feel more beautiful in their own skin.

2) Why did you decide to train in SPMU?

I have always believed in the power of the brow. A good pair of eyebrows can create facial structure and symmetry and can often totally transform a person’s appearance.

After having my son in March 2020, I wanted to create a career that was flexible around my life as a working mum. I love the creativity associated with SPMU artistry and so decided to take the plunge and train as a brow technician. It was the best thing I have ever done – I wish I had done it sooner!

3) What is your favourite procedure to perform?

I love creating a bold combination brow. With combination brows, I can create bespoke results for each individual client. Combination brows also look absolutely unbelievable once healed!

4) Where do you see yourself in five years time?

In 5 years, I would love to own my own salon and academy. Running an academy would give allow me to teach others how to take control of their career and invest their energy into something they are truly passionate about!

I would love to have established a solid client base, have mastered my technique, and have become an expert in the field.

5) What is your signature technique called?

My favourite technique and treatment to perform is the Combination Brow.

6) Who did you train with?

I trained with Summer at Etch Cosmetics. Summer was an amazing tutor and continues to inspire me as a technician and businesswoman.

I have also enrolled on an Ombre Brows masterclass with GgBrows and a lip blush course with Nesta. There is always room for improvement in this industry and I am beyond excited to start offering new treatments to my current and future clients!

7) What is your favourite Cosmedic Supplies machine and needle?

I love the Lite Pad by Cosmedic Supplies. It is so lightweight, yet super powerful and helps me to create perfect results for my clients.

My favourite needle is the 3rl.025. These needles pack in pigment quickly and efficiently and work well on most skin types!
